i put on a couple of my favorite pieces, glad they don't look silly together.  at least i don't think so.  i have this american apparel t-shirt that reads 'fashion fades, style remains' famously quoted by ysl.  i don't even remember how i got it, i think my sister gave it to me.  but anyway, i will admit i enjoy trends every now and then and i don't think there is anything wrong with that.  falling victim to some though is a different story.  i can't appreciate when 'being inspired' gets taken to a different level.  i believe that each individual has their own style and that they should incorporate fashion accordingly.  don't lose your style in fashion.    

she's doing it again.

i love these looks from winter kate's ss '11 collection.  i especially love the extra large sleeves on the second look.  really love the shorts too but i don't think they are from the line.  and i love that the floral prints are not too abstract.  can we fast forward to may?

oh so cozy.

this sweater is so cozy, i could lounge in it all day.  and it's perfect because that's all i have planned for today.  my daughter is on her last week of winter break and my hubby took a few more days off from work.  it feels really nice to have no plans or anywhere to go.  we threw a party for my daughter's 5th birthday and nye combined and we pretty much cleaned all day the next day.  yesterday we just went to church in the morning and then stayed in the rest of the day.  i was itching for a little retail but i received my urban outfitter package earlier and i did just order those aldo booties last night.  

one thing i was going to do this year was play around more with the clothes i already have.  so today i finally wore this thrifted skirt i got a year ago.  i got these booties from f21 at their grand opening in fairfield a few weeks ago and this sweater i got  last week from some random website i found...i think it was yesstyle.com.  not exactly old items but they were not pricey at all.

happy new year everyone!  new years (blog) resolution: take my pictures earlier in the day when lighting is much better.  i guess i'll start that with my next post ;)

2010 was definitely a blessed year.  i'm so thankful and appreciative for everything; the ups and the downs that allowed me to live and learn.  and also the things i was blessed with materially and non-materially.  this blog is dedicated to fashion and that's all that can be read about, but i undoubtedly recognize that my fortunes and my most valued possessions are the things that cannot be bought.

the sun is always in a hurry.

i looked outside to check the "lighting" and the sun was in a good position...no shadows, no harsh light. i went to do whatever final touches on my outfit and by the time i was ready, the sun had disappeared. well, we're about at the peak of winter solstice so that means the days will be officially getting longer. yes, very slowly we're making our way back to spring.

this beanie has been my preferred head dressing lately. i've been wearing it with everything and it's so great when my newly cut 'bangs' aren't looking so well.
