whether the weather.

old coat, yumi kim alyssa dress c/o & dolce vita talullah boots

this year i felt surfing through crowds and waiting in line for hours on zombie mode for black friday was not going to be worth it.  i was able to complete all of my holiday shopping each time i went but i forgot how it felt to just go home after thanksgiving dinner with my family and just go to bed.  i appreciated how i was able to just wake up and lay comfy and cozy on my couch with my laptop and shop from here.  and some online black friday sales last throught the weekend...no brainer!

currently i have been enjoying the nostalgia of the 90's from everything i've been into lately (fashion-wise).  i feel like it's almost too easy that it's borderline costumey.  you have to make sure to add a modern touch.  this floral print maxi dress from Yumi Kim paired with a wool coat is just that.

bright shot.

one of my favorite summer outfits easily because it has that bright shot of color that my wardrobe needs sometimes and it's so comfy.  when chosing the right bottoms for this top, i don't even have to think about it.  these pale denim shorts were meant to be paired with color and tan accessories like my lunchbag clutch and studded sandals compliment everything perfectly.

that's just half of it.

zara blouse, yumi kim shorts (c/o), kimchi blue shoes, h&m bag

still very much in love with this zara top.  these shorts i'm wearing is actually another romper gifted to me by yumi kim.  i'm still deciding whether to keep it as a romper or cut the top half off so i can comfortably wear them (to death) this spring.  i love this print so much.  i wish i had it in a button up shirt and a dress.

these were taken last week when we were having spring weather.  i wasn't sure whether to post these or redo this outfit in different scenery but since it is way too cold to even think of wearing shorts (just looking at these photos are giving me goosebumps on my legs) i thought i would because this is my favorite look of the moment.

in short.

zara knit, romper worn as shorts c/o yumi kim, kimch&blue platforms, vintage clutch

completely obsessed with navy blue, floral prints, chunky gold and these suede platforms.  so more of that to come!  but if we finally get some rain, maybe not the platforms.  and speaking of, i'm so proud of myself.  second (blogged) outfit of the year and no suede booties!  ...babysteps ;)

behind the newspaper building.

yumi kim liz romper (gifted), zara bag and sam edelman boots

this has to be my favorite yumi kim piece.  i love the shape of it and it goes so well with my favorite boots.  sorry if i'm over doing the boots.  not sure yet how many times more i'll be wearing them either.  it makes fooling around in this flirty romper more fun tossing these fringes all over the place.  i think this whole silhouette will be my summer default.
oh and that's my cousin, bohemianrags!  check her out and see the rest of her amazing diy shorts!

this look reminds me of the 80's.  i think it's the turquoise & black together and the sillhouette.  the touches of gold, the details of the sweater and the vintage fendi clutch, which i'm sure is from the 80's also suggests so.  this skirt offers so much in its print, the draping and the pretty fabric that i paired it with something casual and loose fitting to keep it in its spotlight.

rules.

yumi kim ruby tank in tribal print c/o yumi kim, vintage sweater embervintage, uo shorts, steven boots, vintage clutch

it was date night last night and hubby and i went to villa corona in the napa valley.  delicious mexican food!  their sopitos are my favorite.  if you're ever in that area, i highly suggest them for mexican.  i wish i could've had much better scenery for this look but the rain and mud permits me from my usual trees and parks settings.
i really love black and white prints and that's one thing i have a ton of in my closet.  i love mixing them with brown leather accessories.  i also love pairing bold prints like this one with soft textured knits.  i guess you can call them my "rules".  another rule i have is to mix different lengths together.  like how i did with these shorts and this below the knee cardigan.  of course, i break these rules all the time.  after all, rules were made to be broken...or at least we're always tempted to break them...
