i guess spring arrives sooner here in louisiana.  i feel like i just got my arsenal of sweaters and cardigans together ready to layer and cozy up in for the next (at least) couple of months.  it might be too soon to speak but i sure didn't hesitate at the chance to be bare legged.  of course not.  one of my favorite looks is all white accessorized with tan or nude and i think this oversize grey cardigan over it all pulled the look together just perfectly.

my outfits lately have just lazily been consisting of a long coat or cardigan, a tee and skinny jeans.  today i thought i'd change it up a bit.  i tried but i actually just ended up just changing the color scheme from a darker grey scale to a well...lighter grey scale :/ ...it's not really a big deal, i just wanted to give my Instagram more variation which BTW lost so many followers [wtf emoji].

been all about this combination of leather pants, a long cardigan, a baggy tee and dainty jewelry.  it's my fall default so i need more variations.  one thing i've been wanting is my septum pierced.  i've been shopping around for nose rings here.  would you sport a septum piercing?  what kind of ring would you wear?

hello :)  it has been a while but because my hubby and i had nothing else to do today while the kids were in school besides go out and have lunch together (laundry is all done, house is clean, hubby's day off...) i thought i'd take my camera and my new boots out.  if you're like me, with no kind of calves and you have the hardest time finding boots that fit, you might be interested in these :)  i have linked them below the pictures but i linked more similar pairs if you want a better deal or if you want to splurge.  

i bought 2 other pairs before this that just looked ridiculous on me.  and if you have the opposite problem, these would still be great because of the extra stretch on the back half.

my favorite formula: cropped top, mom jeans & mules.  i added the holes and rips today hunching over with scissors and tweezers for about a good hour and a half.  a vacuuming and a tumble in the dryer later, i had to take them out for a test run.  i liked them so much i went to the thrift store to find more potential mom jeans but no luck today.  i actually just got a pair from zara that i haven't worn yet because i'm still debating on whether to have them hemmed to a cropped length or to even just keep them because they were pretty pricey.  but i guess we will all just see...

now that i've been back to blogging (i guess), i had to kind of create a line-up of my outfits.  i want to try to show my older purchases and/or looks so i don't completely forget about them.  also it helps me put them to more use.

facts i should mention about this look; (minus the shoes) this outfit cost me about $25, i got the top and skirt about 2 months ago (the shoes a few days ago) and this is my version of the 90's style i am obsessed with.

i was geting really bored with the selection of jeans or pants in general for so long, hence the 5% of the time that i'm in pants on this blog (or my Instagram).  i really needed something different in terms of shape or silhouette.  boyfriend jeans a few years ago was a breath of fresh air and is still a fav of mine.  but then the idea of a high-waisted pair of boyfriend jeans i.e. mom jeans was perfect. i could have something to wear with all these cropped tops i can't stop buying.  the only thing is finding the right pair...

for the last year or so i've kept a really simple (and greyscale) wardrobe with the exception of denim, camel, a tiny bit of color here and there and even sequins.  it makes dressing up easy but building it, knowing essential pieces is key.  this post features some; a masculine camel coat, a silk tank top and ripped & relaxed denim.  and depending on the occasion or event, i like to make sure it doesn't look overly "comfortable" by adding a sexy and chic pair of shoes.

happy new year, everyone!  yes, my first post of the year but so far I've been at home helping my kids complete a couple of projects and sorting through my house reorganizing and getting rid of things we no longer need.  Something I do every year so we don't accumulate too much.  In between projects I've been  browsing all the sales going on.  Going through Zara's sales is dangerous.  I've found so much for myself and the kids that I really need to stop but  I think it is safe to say I am done.  I scored this camel coat that sold out back in September, this Céline copy-cat knit in gray which  I already have in black and this angora crop sweater which I was swooning for in cream when it first came out but black is great too. I hadn't gone to forever21 in a while before I visited the store earlier this week when I  found this Isabel Marant copy-cat jacket.  All they had was black so I ordered the cream from the website.  Curious to see how it will look in person.

this year i felt surfing through crowds and waiting in line for hours on zombie mode for black friday was not going to be worth it.  i was able to complete all of my holiday shopping each time i went but i forgot how it felt to just go home after thanksgiving dinner with my family and just go to bed.  i appreciated how i was able to just wake up and lay comfy and cozy on my couch with my laptop and shop from here.  and some online black friday sales last throught the weekend...no brainer!

currently i have been enjoying the nostalgia of the 90's from everything i've been into lately (fashion-wise).  i feel like it's almost too easy that it's borderline costumey.  you have to make sure to add a modern touch.  this floral print maxi dress from Yumi Kim paired with a wool coat is just that.

i finally had the chance to do a shoot with ryan so of course i had to bring out these suedette shorts i got from f21 that i added studs to.  i promised on my IG that i'd do a tutorial but i totally failed.  i might just give written instructions.  i was inspired by isabel marant fw '13's stud trimmed scallops.  one of my most worn items this summer is this crew neck blouse.  i have a similar one from last year but i'm really into its curved hems.  i'm so sad i got rid of a bunch from several years back.  a lot of people are asking where i found my celine sunglasses.  i got them at nordstrom but the girl who helped me locate them said they were hard to find and almost sold out and that was back in april.  so if you're looking for some alternatives which are a lot cheaper, i found a lot of cute oversized cat-eye frames here. 

it's been a long week and i'm so excited it's finally friday.  i'll be enjoying my 'me time' in the city with my sister later :)
